New life, new beginnings

Today went to school because im feeling well again. lol. Finally. Haha. Then talk with sherilyn whole day. Today she come my house. lol. Someone from same school come my house lei. Excited. Haha. Then porky oso come. Then because tomorrow going to conrad hotel. I needed to get formal clothes. Went to beauty world. And bought a shirt. Lol. Nice. its white colour. Tomorrow going get some pictures of me, sherilyn and kelly and of cause the performance for tomorrow. Tomorrow going off at 11am then we need to reach there by 1pm. The performance ended at 11pm. So late eh? sian. Never mind. Saturday i will post again cause tomorrow i will come back late. This midnight is ghost month. So fast. hah. ^^. Cya peeps. =P

That which does not kill you, will only make you stranger.

Stranger still is how Christopher Nolan has managed to better the already formidable "Batman Begins", what with how tricky the franchise is. In the past 10 years or so, blockbuster adaptations of comic book superheroes have rarely touched the greatness, nor captured the essence, of the character at hand, perhaps with the exception of "Iron Man". Between Bruce Wayne and the Batman however, there's already enough character struggle to perish all thoughts of any Catwomen cleavage needed for blockbuster appeal.

Never has an overtly mainstream picture discussed ideas on power, justice, due process and the rule of law so accessibly for the regular moviegoer. Bruce Wayne is billionaire playboy and expert criminologist at the same time - yet the story is filled with legal themes, almost academic even. All the central characters in "The Dark Knight" are so intensely developed, each representing a school of thought in philosophy or sociology. Like Wayne in the movie, one would think that The Joker is just a loony criminal with an affinity for TNT - but as Alfred his butler would say: "... some men can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with, they just want to watch the world burn". Therein lies the attraction of "The Dark Knight" - it's a presentation on the difficulty of defeating 'jihadist' sentiments, a sort of Hollywood-endorsed study on the nature of crime and being.

On that point, Warner also played another hand well - a marketing strategy that mustn't be insensitive to the late Heath Ledger. Perhaps it's fitting then that he delivered his best ever performance as the maniacal Joker, the kind of acting precision that maybe occurs to an actor once or twice in his or her entire lifetime. I don't think it's out of order to say that Joker drew from Ledger as much as Ledger from Joker. The Chelsea grin carved across the jester's face already goes some way towards telling the tale of an entirely believable anarchist whose twisted appetite for destruction will shine brighter than all the Batman beacons Commissioner Gordon could ever assemble on Gotham's rooftops.

For a comic adaptation, it seems strange that the most unbelievable thing would actually be the busty Russian ballerina troupe that Bruce Wayne womanises!

Maybe only two decisions on this project were suspect - to retain Rachel Dawes' demure role (despite switching actresses to the much feistier Gyllenhaal) and also, to reduce Batman's 'thinking time' for The Joker's cinematic glory. It's also lamentable that Aaron Eckhart's turn as the Harvey Dent @ Two-Face has been completely eclipsed by Ledger. His is definitely the most interesting character, although screen time will most probably go to him in the next instalment.

Meanwhile, simply enjoy "The Dark Knight" for what it is - a truly entertaining movie with something for everyone. After all, why so serious?

Yesterday watch The Dark Knight with PorkyChops. Keke. So nice and good. We went to Great World City to watch. Haha. He watch until frozen pork le. =X. Me lei? got jacket to put on. ^^. Now waiting for the mummy 3. TOmb Of ThE DrAgOn EmpEroRer. ^^.

In this all-new action comedy, Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. When the headquarters of America's spy agency, CONTROL, is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his eager analyst Smart, who has always dreamt of working alongside superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the only other agent whose identity has not been compromised: the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). As Smart and 99 get closer to unravelling KAOS' master plan, they discover a nefarious scheme to cash in with their network of terror. With little field experience and even less time, can they save the day?

Cinema review
If there is one thing that stood out like a sore thumb in "Get Smart", it's that it's a distinctly Steve Carell film. The film is a remake of the popular 60's TV show of the same name. Taking in bits and pieces of the beloved show, the film is merely an updated version with Carell playing the epitomic role of Maxwell "Max" Smart, although bearing little semblance to the original character in the series played by Don Adams other than the fact that both bear the same name.

In this remake, Max is an enthusiastic and efficient analyst for CONTROL - a secret government organisation who's at odds with its nemesis KAOS. Carell carries Max with creative abandon, infusing his own brand of "The Office"-like humour which carefully ignores everything we've come to love about the character in the TV series. Adams made Max aloof from insults, but yet with a savant-like quality that triumphs every time, but Carell has made over the beloved secret agent to seem like an entirely different person altogether. In fact, this wouldn't have been a "Get Smart" remake if it wasn't for a few recognisable themes and characters from the series.

As a hard-working and previously overweight agent, Max excels as an analyst for CONTROL but longs to be out on the field doing stealthy infiltrations and dodging bullets. His big break came when the identities of CONTROL's agents were compromised, and the organisation had no choice but to deploy new agents consisting of himself along with the fresh-from-under-the-knife veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway), to put a stop to KAOS' assassination attempt on the President.

Together, both Smart and Agent 99 begin with a love-hate relationship which sprouted from the fact that they both have different methods of getting a job done. The careful and by-the-book Smart is undermined by the experienced Agent 99, and though Agent 99 is gracefully deadly, Hathaway is far too demure and bland to carry her character's weight. The Agent 99 from the 60's played by Barbara Feldon possesses a more colourful personality but has now been translated as uptight and prudent, although infinitely a more independent 21st century woman who has a taste for Chanel. Since this is a comedy flick, the large gap between the original characters and the ones in the film is easily forgiven, although not desirable by most standards.

A majority of the laughs and humour come from our hero Max (or specifically Carell), equally supported by characters like super Agent 23 (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), CONTROL's Chief (Alan Arkin) and small appearance by Masi Oka and an even smaller appearance by Bill Murray. Playing Smart's arch nemesis is Terence Stamp as Siegfried, whose bad-guy persona is literally wasted underneath the weight of the budding relationship between Smart and Agent 99 which takes up a majority of the plot.

However, the film will incur a lot of laughs associated with Carell's dialogue and performance. His dry sense of humour is omnipresent, creating a thoroughly enjoyable flick which rises above the few jokes which have become stale and should be thrown away for good - we certainly don't need more people bumping into walls to tickle ourselves.

The telephone shoe makes a nostalgic return (this time preserved in a glass box) along with other 60's "Get Smart" paraphernalia. Max also drives the bright red Sunbeam, albeit only for two minutes, but the fans will connect with just one scene that correlates the film and the TV series - Max entering the headquarters with high-tech steel doors shutting behind him is one of the most memorable scenes from 60's TV. While it comes across as a little Clouseau meets "Johnny English", the film is definitely more entertaining and action-packed (think "Mission: Impossible" action-packed) than most spy comedy flicks of recent times.

Black Carnival(ep 90)
The transformed Tyki is too fast and too powerful for Allen and Lavi, and with the door destroyed there is no way out of the Ark. Despite there is little hope, the Exorcists fight back. And when attacked by Tyki, Chaoji even reacts to a nearby Innocence, saving his and Lenalee's life for the while. The fight continues, as Allen vows to fight until his life ends. Meanwhile, strange beings guard a large round object and seem to be defeated by one of their own.

"A Deep Red Chain"
As shizuka was dying, ichiru was with her the whole time, crying and having flashbacks of the past times with shizuka. Ichiru has been in love with her the first time he met her. Shizuka, as she was dying told Ichiru a story about being engaged with a pureblood, but she fell in love with a human that she turned into a vampire. Unfortunately, the lover of hers was executed by Zero and Ichiru's parents because they were vampire hunters. That lover wasn't even supposed to be executed before sinking into level e. Someone(Rido Kuran, the pureblood that's engaged to shizuka) changed the list of vampires to be executed, due to his jealousy. Due to the execution, shizuka was said to had gone mad to kill Zero and Ichiru's parents, as well as biting Zero on the neck, making him a vampire. Before shizuka dies, she asked Ichiru if he wanted to go with her, Ichiru immediately answered her yes. Zero on the other hand was on his way to the room where Shizuka was kiled by Kaname when he smelled the drippings of blood that was left behind by shizuka that trails to the room where she was laying down dying. When he reached the room, Shizuka was being carried by Ichiru dead. Zero didn't get a chance to drink his master's blood because her soul disappeared. In that room, the brothers had an argument about shizuka, about the hatred and jealousy that Ichiru has towards his twin brother. After the bickering, Ichiru escaped to the window living Zero struggling for his life. Yuuki was watching him as he passed out. Zero was accompanied to a safe place by Yagari. Kain, who also came to the scene of the crime reported to Kaname that he thinks Zero was the one who killed the"Madly Blooming Princess". Kaname acted as though he wasn't the one who killed Shizuka, though Aidou was a bit suspicious. Yuuki and all of them went back to their normal doings everyday. Yuuki asked the chairman about Zero and his condition. The chairman told her the he was fine and promised that they'd visit Zero soon. That night, Yuuki went to the foutain in the school and was accompanied by Kaname afterwards. She told him about her feeling and the pain that Zero was suffering. The next scene was when the chairman came to visit Zero where he was locked up in chains in between a cross with daggers just like the tattoo on his neck. A noise was heard making the chairman and Yagari go out of the room. Kaname appeared and had a talk with Zero and then he forced Zero to drink his blood that can get rid of his madness. At first Zero refused to do it, but Kaname told him that it wasn't for him, but for Yuuki.
