 Today went to lido to watch daybreakers. Quite nice and some gory scenes. I think it looks like M18 to me and not NC 16 =.=. Cause i can see the nipple. LOL! Hmm, bought 2 t shirt from espirit. Oh gosh, keep buying from that shop. Im a espirit fan le eh? =D. Below is a review taken from yahoo. The irony of humans, who have been predominantly predators to many species but are now being relegated to the role of preys, is deliciously wicked and warped. Vampirism is here viewed upon as a curse, a stark contrast to how recent Hollywood fare has romantised it. In the world of "Daybreakers", humans are being farmed for blood, resulting in the inevitable outcome of depleting bloodstock as humans become an endangered species. The political undertones and humanitarian messages in the film could not have been more obvious, though a little nuance and subtlety would have been appreciated. You would not believe the morbid fascination that the film has with blood and gore until you see how excessively featured it is, to the point you become desensitized to it long before the film enters the second reel. The violence and carnage rambles on, from decapitations and dismemberment to exsanguinations and a full-blown blood orgy massacre as the coup de grace. The shock tactics and cheap scares succeed the first few times, but just get rather annoying before long. Still, the cast landed in a praiseworthy performance regardless of the feeding frenzies and their epicene pallor, with Ethan Hawke in the lead as a hematologist looking for a cure to vampirism and Sam Neill eerily good as a menacingly machiavellian mercenary.With a fresh concept and bold imagination, "Daybreakers" is a galvanising original which has bite. |
